"Dying for the Art"

Films: Phantom of the Paradise (1974)

Alias: Phantom of the Paradise

Type: Naturalt

Location: Civilized area

Height/Weight: That of an average human.

Affiliation: Neutral

Summary: Okay, who do you side with here? The man who sold his soul to the Devil to become a producer, or the maddened victim of his plans? Winslow is the latter, by the way.

History: Winslow Leach was an aspiring musician who recently made a deal with Swan, a producer who clearly wants nothing to do with him. How do we know? He steals Leach's music for himself, uses it to promote his "Paradise" concert, and has Leach framed for the life sentence to a prison. Worse, when Leach escapes for revenge, he stumbles into a word press that ravages his face and vocal cords. Soon, he and Swan find themselves going toe to toe constantly, with Leach having donned a mask and armor as the “Phantom of the Paradise”, and demanding more publicity for Phoenix, the female singer of his dreams.

Notable Kills: Nothing special.

Final Fate: Leach realizes that in order to kill Swan and save Phoenix, he must destroy the recordings of Swan signing a contract with Satan for immortality. He does, and then goes on to stab a now aged and humiliated Swan, even if he was bound to the contract too, and therefore gets the same stab wounds. The audience of all things then joins in for stabby fun.

Powers/Abilities: None

Weakness: Dies if Swan dies due to the blood-signed contract.

Scariness Factor: 3-His appearance is pretty unsightly, but he's not totally unsympathetic. The real monster is Swan, a man so pathetic he wanted to keep his use via Satanism.

Trivia: -The press that disfigured Leach was supposed to be safe for the actor, but it very nearly had the same result due to a malfunction.

-Due to being the same name of a Led Zeppelin song, the track "Swan Song Enterprises" was deleted from the original release.

We're not talking about the Phantom, though. Take a wild guess.

The Jonas brothers were never heard from again.

"I honestly thought the blood part was hyperbole."
Hear that? That's the sound of your heart going out to him.

He's still trying to comprehend why anyone would name their kid 'Swan'.

"Here I come to save the daaaaaay!"
